Tuquito OLPC 2nd Stage
July 19th, 2007
During the first stage of project OLPC, we concentrate us in gettin to the bottom of the matter, knowing the technical and pedagogical details, in summary we were centered in generating documentation and activities (aplicattions) for the famous 100 dollars little machine.
We had many achivments, we edited a book about the project and several educative activities. For the 2nd stage, that has started a week ago, we are going to center in the recolection of information, graphical if possible, with interviews and surveys to teachers, students and people who are in direct relationship with the medium, since we are close to the implementation of pilot tests in Tucumán.
In this 2nd stage tuquito olpc blog, will fulfill an important roll, since that is the place where all type of collected information will be published. So I invite all of you to stay informed trough the blog and to have a protagonic roll by helping us in the organization and planning of the project.

The Parliament of Tucuman is migrating to Tuquito
July 19th, 2007
The Honorary Parliament of Tucuman, is already using in some workstations the version r5 of Tuquito 2, and has planned a complete migration to Tuquito for the year 2008. For this task our team of Tuquito under the coordination of Chris Arenas and Nicolas Montoza, are dictating training courses for the people in charge of the Computer & Systems Area, that is to say, we are “training the trainers”. It is really a remarkable advance on behalf of this government sector and we hoped that in the next months more sectors join them.

We meet at Congress Square in Buenos Aires, at just one block away the people of the “Grito Argentino” website, lend us there conference room so we can chat and propose ideas…about what? it’s easy, they give us the possibility of publishing, notes, commentaries to initiate subjects, and what ever comes to our mind obviously free software related. Obvious we “TUQUITO” will participate, but also it will participate people who get along with other distros and even some that loves the God Bill, always commenting about free software, each one can be a columnist and even create discussion threads on interest subjects. The door is open for all kinds, so bring ideas, proposals, mate and facturas, that in those 2 or 3 hours that we can be together we could give a national reach out to our project: Free Software.
The ones that wants to bring there notebooks, there will be Wireless Internet, also a Big Screen TV in case someone wants to make a presentation. These opportunities are few, we should take advantage of them.

Tuquito meneame
July 18th, 2007
Looking for a replacement to use something more robust for libre.tuquito.org.ar I chose meneame
which is a powerful “social space” project where the users are the main actors of the site.
As meneame is free software, I was going to install it at our servers, but I find out with recent news that a network of meneames was launched, blogger style…so I opened an account there directly
Well…enjoy! and I hope that we make of this space a free space

Tuquito x 3 Campaign
July 18th, 2007
Tuquito invites you to participate in the Tuquito x 3 campaign Get involved and spread the freedom…
Tuquito is more than a simple distribution of GNU/Linux. It’s a community that grows and laid it’s foundations in the freedom and the mutual aid. Faithfuls to that principle, we launch today a new way to spread Tuquito and to demonstrate, at the same time, that a small effort can mean a lot.
Tuquito x 3 is born to mainly narrow the bonds that always united us… and to extend them. It is an excellent opportunity to demonstrate that good intentions mixed with good ideas, can change many things, and even if it only changes a single person, then the whole universe has changed.
