Tuquito’s results in Santiago
October 22nd, 2007
![]()
On September 28th in “HOTEL SAVOY” Peatonal TUCUMAN 39 (Santiago del Estero ) we performs together with IAC from this province, a seminar about Linux, where we talked about the Free SoftWare, Tuquito and we performs the official presentation of the proposed Tuquito OLPC. The event was attended by a little more than 300 people that was very interested in knowing about the Free Software and Tuquito, the workshop lasted two and a half hours with an interval of about 15 minutes where we performed appetizing coffe break.
The speech was dynamic, with many questions, comments and laughter, we even had the arrival on the scene of Elio Campos, after the coffe, with the Tuquito t-shirt run after being Tuquievangelizado.
The living room had an excellent decoration, and the event was very well organized and structured. When you entered the hotel, there were advocates of IAC, which you guided toward the living room, while shared some notes on Tuquito and Free Software. Then once, it agreed to the accreditation and eventually came to sit, the event was “open”.
Again I must repeat myself, and give my deep congratulations to Elio Campos, responsible for the event, organized as a workshop and management that gives much to envy and especially for his vision, so it is a a visionary, a bold and above all a run.

It was the fourth consecutively time in that city, as allways pursuing the purpose of spreading the philosophy of Free Software to their vast university population and to the public in general.
Although the weather was terrible –the annoying drizzle bothered us practically all the day– the public came in good number to better know the Free Software community.
As expositors were Santiago Pessat and Esteban Peiro, whom appeared in Oro Verde to speak about our beloved Tuquito.

Tuquito as a free choice:
August 13th, 2007
In the education:
Tuquito in the education is considered of high importance since it allows generating future IT professionals as technological independent and not as well as technological dependents, being cause that’s what the privative software or closed source generates.
Stepping aside the technological topic Tuquito persecutes a philosophical purpose, what we mean with this, it’s that it stimulates the creativity, the spiritual growth as much as the intellectual and mainly the art that turn us to human beings, “to share”.
The Tuquito fundamentals like free software it’s to share, if this natural process it’s not made, the free software doesn’t gain strength, it doesn’t growth, not get better, briefly it doesn’t evolve.
When one becomes qualified on privative solutions, becomes qualified in a mark, and not in the essence of software inself. However with free software one becomes qualified in which it really is software, for example if we make a grade of office software, we really learn what is a text processor and not the mark of himself. This let us be ahead in the free technological capacitation at the moment of changing the environment and to face up new and different alternatives.

Tuquito OLPC 2nd Stage
July 19th, 2007
During the first stage of project OLPC, we concentrate us in gettin to the bottom of the matter, knowing the technical and pedagogical details, in summary we were centered in generating documentation and activities (aplicattions) for the famous 100 dollars little machine.
We had many achivments, we edited a book about the project and several educative activities. For the 2nd stage, that has started a week ago, we are going to center in the recolection of information, graphical if possible, with interviews and surveys to teachers, students and people who are in direct relationship with the medium, since we are close to the implementation of pilot tests in Tucumán.
In this 2nd stage tuquito olpc blog, will fulfill an important roll, since that is the place where all type of collected information will be published. So I invite all of you to stay informed trough the blog and to have a protagonic roll by helping us in the organization and planning of the project.
